PHS A Great Resource

Author: Sara Hong

About the Author: Sara will be an incoming freshman at A&M. She is interested in pursuing a career in the health field, specifically as a physician assistant or optometrist. She is grateful for the shadowing and volunteer opportunities that Pre-Health Shadowing has provided.

I recently joined the Pre-Health Shadowing team as a general volunteer, and I have also gone back to watch some of the shadowing sessions. They have a wide variety of health professions that you can shadow, such as doctors, physician assistants, EMTs, and more. I like how it is flexible, so you can shadow when you have time. It is also a great resource right now for students who are looking to gain shadowing experience but may not be able to do it in person. As for volunteering, there are many different tasks you can do on your own time, but you can also join different teams to help out with projects and fundraising. It is very convenient for people who are busy with school or other obligations. Pre-Health Shadowing has helped me prepare for future health professions that I would like to pursue.
